Haris Hussain

Everyone at the Sheffield Steeldogs would like to send their thoughts and best wishes to the family of Haris Hussain who passed away this weekend.

Haris played junior hockey along side current Steeldogs Curtis Warbuton, Jack Brammer and Nathan Ripley but is probably best known to Dogs fans as a linesman who officiated at many of our NIHL games.

Haris had been in hospital, battling hard against lymphomas caused from complications from his bone marrow transplant last July. For his birthday, he set up a fundraising campaign for DKMS, a blood cancer charity that helped him through his bone marrow transplant last year.

We will have a bucket collection to contribute to this at Sunday's game, and we will also have a minutes applause at the 10 minute mark of the game, as Haris was #10 for the Sheffield Stormers.
